End of Year 1 exam: Learner response

 1) Type up any feedback from your teacher in full (you do not need to write the mark/grade if you do not wish to).

WWW: Steven a fair attempt at the 20 mark TV essay, some recall of how contexts impact production values.

LR: Write another paragraph for Q1.3 including more evidence for the clip.

2) Look at the mark scheme document linked above. Question 1.1 asks about mise-en-scene. What do we use to remember mise-en-scene? Give one example answer from the clip too - you'll find example answers in the mark scheme.
To remember mise-en-scene we use the concept of CLAMPS which stand for costume, lighting, Actors, makeup, Props, scene. The use of costume on the characters are that they are wearing casual scruffy clothes which helps us as the audience identify where the place and scene takes place.
3) Question 1.2 asks about narrative features in the extract. Look at the mark scheme to pick out three possible answers for this question.
-The use of narrative shown in His Dark Materials is that Lyra is the protagonist who is presented as a hero on the quest
-The use of Todorov's equilibrium is that Will and Lyra are adventurous due to the lack of enthusiasm they have exploring the lost city
-Disequilibrium is the chase scene
4) Now focus on Question 2 - the 20 mark essay. Use the mark scheme to pick out one way Doctor Who reflects 1963 and one way His Dark Materials reflects 2020.
-
Doctor who reflect 1963 by the use of camera and language as in 1963 the actors mainly used quite complex and controversial language. On the other hand His Dark Materials shows a modern quality scenery which juxtapose both series as the quality from Doctor Who had improved over the years.
5) Reflect on your overall work and exam performance this year. What three things do you need to work on or revise in Media for Year 11?
3 Things i will need to work on for media year 11 is :
I will put more quality towards my sentences rather than quality
revise more ethically and efficient
Lastly practise more harder questions in preparation of the GCSE exam
