Magazines and Music Video assessment: Learner response

 1) Type up your WWW/EBI feedback in full (you don't need to write the mark and grade if you want to keep this confidential).

WWW: Steven, fairly secure assessment overall. Clear knowledge +understanding of Arctic Monkeys CSP in relation to identity.

EBI: Careless mistakes on media terminology (magazine conventions) + (Uses + Gratifications) theory impacted overall grade.

2) Read the mark scheme for this assessment carefully. Write down the mark you achieved for each question:

Q1: 1/2
Q2: 4/8
Q3: 4/6
Q4: 2/3
Q5: 4/6

3) Look specifically at question 2. Use the indicative content in the mark scheme for question 2 to write three connotations of the design and layout of Tatler.

-The Tatler magazine subverts and challenges stereotypes as the person in the centre (Emma Weymouth) is shown as a person with black heritage showing diversity as person of colour.
-The use of femininity is reinforced in the magazine as Emma Weymouth is presented wearing a dress and wearing makeup showing the reinforced stereotypes of femininity.

-The use of a low angle shows that she is dominant and has power.
4) Now look at question 3 - Heat magazine. Use the indicative content in the mark scheme to write three ways celebrities are represented in Heat magazine.

-Heat magazine covers controversial topic issues and scandals which are proposed as problematic.
-The use of a paparazzi shot shows a twist, engages with the audience and interests the target audiences.
-The royal family is portrayed negatively as the family issues around the monarchy

5) Look at question 5 - Arctic Monkeys and audience identity. This is a real AQA past question with lots of potential answers given in the mark scheme. Choose three answers that specifically refer to the Arctic Monkeys CSP and write them here.
There use of identity makes Arctic Monkeys brand image increase and stand out as they are an indie independent rock band. This is significant as they focused on being relatable with there fans and focused on there performance than there appearance or representation. This made the audience feel connect6ed and close to the band. The use of the phrase 'don't believe the hype' signifies there opening lyric on being true to reality.

6) BLACKPINK - How You Like That didn't come up in this assessment. If this CSP comes up in your end of Year 1 exam, what three things about BLACKPINK and How You Like That could you try to include in your answer?
- How BLACKPINK are a manufactured group
-How there music video on How you like that reached 1 billion views in less than a year
-There overall success and the audience pleasures they promote with the use of CLAMPS
