Demographics and Psychographics: blog tasks

 1) What information do media companies use to create a demographic profile of their audience? The media companies use age, gender, race, location, employment status

2) Why are media companies and advertisers increasingly using audience profiling and not just demographics? Because its more specific for the audience so that it would bring out there attention.

3) What are the seven different Psychographic groups?  The seven different psychographic groups are:
The Aspirer
The explorer
The reformer
The Succeeder
The resigned
The  struggler
The mainstreamer

4) Write a brief summary of what each Psychographic group is seeking or motivated by.
The Aspirer: They seek towards status
The explorer : They seek towards discovery
The reformer: They seek towards enlightenment
The Succeeder: They seek towards control
The resigned: They seek to survive
The  struggler: They seek to escape
The mainstreamer: They seek to security

5) What psychographic group or groups do YOU belong in? Think about your own interests and lifestyle and explain your decision. Remember, you may fit into two or three different groups!

A psychographic group that I think I belong in is The explorer. This is because I like to try out new things and possibly have better interests towards new discovery's such as brands, hobbies and passions. This would lead me to not do the same things and perhaps make me feel motivated overall. Another psychotic group I think I belong towards too is the succeeder. This is because the succeeder mainly seeks towards keep on control. This is so that I can manage different things independently such as spending money, time screen, op[inion based comments and moral and verbal actions. Lastly I think I fit in towards to the reformer. This is because the reformer seeks in enlightenment and that I want to gain knowledge for important events such as interviews, tests and for work. Overall I think each 3 groups have important roles for real life experiences to make a preparation towards what is coming next.
